I also was surprised at how quickly I was able to run the 1.5 miles, but I might have to attribute my motivation to the not unattractive girl running next to me on the treadmill.......now if I can just have that at the tri, I'll be golden.
A little over a year ago, I realized that I was extremely out of shape. I joined a gym and thanks to Kendra at "Twin Fitness" in Overland Park, KS, I was able to drop some weight and get back into shape. I found that working out on a consistent basis requires a lot of motivation. A significant amount of my motivation comes from those who I surround myself with.
The idea for starting this blog almost a year late is a "Push Up Challenge" a few of my coworkers have started. The challenge is 150 push ups for fifty days starting on 11--4-08. I wanted to have a place to keep everyone motivated.
The push up challege and ended and I missed the last ten days. Of the total starting group, I believe only about 5 people made it all 50 days.
The blog is now going to continue with my traithalon training group. So be prepared to read about a group of people setting out on a goal of completing a triathlon. The culmination of the goal will be on June 29.2009 in Des Moines, IA. If by chance a person not in the group reads this and wants to join, by all means DO IT!!!
I am hoping for a little friendly competition among friends. Don't be surprised if you her some trash talking.
Motivation is key... Lets keep each other motivated!!!
