Getting Pumped!

Hey all. Just a couple points for the group here. First, I too would like to welcome Mr. Brooks to the group. We're glad to have ya. Second, my personal vote would be to postpone the group activities until we can all get situated with equipment and such. On that note, I can honestly say I have NO clue what to look for when it comes to bikes. Assuming Josh doesn't end up selling me his bike, I'll need some guidance on that from someone.

Looking forward to it. I know the training is going to start sucking pretty soon, but I can't wait for the challenge. Talk to you all soon.

Wednesday 1-29

Josh and I completed the 5 mile bike ride tonight on stationary bikes. It was definitely not a hard workout at all. How did everyone else do?

WELCOME SEAN!!! glad to hear you are with us.

What is everyone thinking about this Saturday mornings work out. Should we start this week or wait a few? I am thinking of waiting a week or to so everyone can get there equipment and training schedule situated..

I'm in!

Well to let you all know I signed up Tuesday morning for the HyVee Tri. Thanks to all of you that talked with me about the event. I'm really excited about doing this with all of you. Josh has included me in on the workout plan (didn't get it till after my run today here at work!) and I will be getting on the plan starting Thursday. Still trying to figure out how I will be doing the biking portion due to not having a bike yet, but we're working on that. I'm excited about the event and working out when I can with all of you. Hoping for a quiet night here at work and see you soon.

-Sean

PS-I'm not going to call it a great win tonight over Nebraska, but nice one Hawks!

Tuesday 1-27

I did get my stretching in for today's workout. I have to tell you all since the title of the blog is painlyrics. I had to go to Columbia actually at the Hearnes Center to take a class to become and OC instructor. ie pepper spray. They have this new crap on the market that is absolutley HORRIBLE. I cannot even describe the pain it put on me. The only good that came from it was I snotted all over the HEARNES CENTER. Thats right MU fans, that is what I did.

On another note, Sister Carissia has been checking into some other training plans. She has found a couple that I think we could look into. They are more specific. I do not think they are any harder but give a better outline on what we should be doing and how to do it.

I will have her post an example and you guys tell me what you think.

I know this is only a few days into week 1 but I have not seen any post from JAKE...JAKE ARE YOU STILL ALIVE, YOU CANNOT QUIT NOW YOU HAVE A BIKE.

It's on!

Jay,

I officially signed up this morning for the tri! Now, it's time to get a bike, pedals, and something to transport my bike on to our group rides.

Anywho, saw that you talked about incorporating Crossfitendurance.com. Be sure to read their website about stretching and their recommendations on how to get your body used to the stress. I think they said to start slow with 1-2 endurance workouts per week and then by the end (for Ironman - just pick whatever distance, probably middle distance for us) you should be doing 6 CFE (Crossfit Endurance) workouts per week. Their should be 2 of each sport (run/bike/swim) represented in that week. Don't forget your body will be pissed at you for the regular WOD's so we need to stay on everyone to eat healthy and when there is a rest day to take it off and recover...

Anyway, cool blog and excited to start training!!
